We recently took an amazing trip to Croatia and Switzerland. There is so much to say about it but let’s talk about how we got there! We knew we wanted to splurge with our points and fly business class with it being such a long flight. I did a ton of shopping aorund and searching and settled on flying Turkish Airlines from JFK to Dubrovnik Croatia. We live in Denver so we took a positioning flight to JFK. Here is how we did it:

Flew from Denver to JFK. We used our $300 Capital One Venture X Travel Credit to cover this. Each flight was $150 each. We had about 6 hours between flights and we were able to visit the Venture X lounge which is the best one I have been to yet!

Each flight from JFK to Dubrovnik on Turkish Airlines was 45,000 points a person on Aeroplan. There was a promo going on so you have to watch for it. The taxes were high at $350 each but WORTH it. The service is top notch and being able to lay down on a 10 hour flight is priceless.

Where did these points come from? I transferred them to Aeroplan from my Venture X card. Right now the bonus on this card is 100K with a $300 travel credit!

We then went to Switzerland and see how we did that for under $500 HERE!
